It’s a mad, mad world and there’s no single, neatly formulated answer to why. The Guardian, a highly respected news source and one of the more reliable in today’s world, just published a brief article to inform you, me, we that AI beauty pageants are a now thing. And a subscription-based content creator platform recently teamed up with the World AI Creator Awards (WAICA) to launch the world’s first “Miss AI” competition. A team of judges — comprising two humans and two virtual models — will go through AI-generated pictures of women to find one Robot to crown as “Miss AI”. Honestly, the robots were intriguing.. somewhat attractive, but due to the materials used, their looks seemed hard!
In the fantastical creative forest of my mind, I wonder, what if they moved into mass production? Who will be the buyers of these unique ‘females? How will they fit into the greater gestalt of human existence? Obviously, these ‘creaturas’ will, at first, be bought and owned by the uber rich for a plethora of indulgences and entertainment. No one is mass producing them… yet.
Actually, reading about these robotic developments in the news, sent me spiraling back into a time I spent staying in a thatched roof guest bungalow on a large ranch outside Bogota, Colombia. Surrounded by masses of living green there were orchids growing from trees. A process…
